By using Thunder Buddy you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. What the service is
Thunder Buddy sends severe-weather alerts for places and people you choose, with optional location sharing and check-ins. It uses public data from the U.S. National Weather Service.
2. Safety disclaimer — please read
Thunder Buddy is a best-effort convenience, not a substitute for official sources. We do not guarantee that any alert will be delivered, delivered on time, or be accurate. Weather data, networks, push services, and SMS can fail or be delayed. Do not rely on Thunder Buddy as your only warning system. Always heed official NWS alerts, Wireless Emergency Alerts, local authorities, and call 911 in an emergency.
3. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from missed, delayed, or inaccurate alerts or from reliance on the service. (Your lawyer should set the specific cap and carve-outs for your jurisdiction.)
5. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and are responsible for activity on your account. Provide accurate information and keep your number/device secure.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Thunder Buddy to harass, stalk, or track anyone without their consent, to break the law, or to abuse the messaging or location features. Only request or share location with people who have agreed.
7. Text messages
You consent to receive account and safety texts at your number; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Premium & billing
Some features require a paid subscription, billed via the applicable app store or payment processor and renewing until cancelled. Manage or cancel through that store/processor. Life-safety weather alerts keep working even if a paid plan lapses. Refunds follow the store's/processor's policy.
9. Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service.
10. Changes & governing law
We may update these terms and will note the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
